How to Put a Website on Your Desktop

Have you ever wanted to click on a shortcut on your desktop to open a webpage, instead of typing in the web address? Here's how.
Steps:

  1. Go to the website you want to put on your desktop.
  2. Highlight the web address.
  3. Right-click and click "Copy" (or press Image:keys_control.png + Image:keys_c.png).
  4. Go to your desktop.
  5. Right-click on the desktop and scroll over "New".
  6. Then click on "Shortcut" (Windows) or "Link" (KDE).
  7. A wizard will come up.
  8. Where it says "Type in the location of the item:" right-click and click on "Paste" (or type Image:keys_control.png + Image:keys_v.png).
  9. Click on "Next-->".
  10. Where it says "Type in the name of the item:" Put in what you want the shortcut to say. i.e. WikiHow.
  11. Click on "Finish".
Alternative Method
  1. Go the website.
  2. Go to the far side.
  3. Right click.
  4. Click on create shortcut.
  5. A window will pop up.
  6. It will say "a shortcut has been added to you desktop".
